Our Story

My wife and I own and operate the ranch alongside our kids, grandkids, and extended family. Between us, there are fourteen grandchildren running around this place, and every decision we make is with the future in mind — not just for our family, but for the families who plan ahead instead of reacting to the grocery store. Our goal isn’t just to raise beef for today, but to build something lasting — something our children and grandchildren can be proud to carry forward if they choose.

We’re third-generation East Texas ranchers who believe good food starts with good stewardship. We raise beef the way it should be raised — on grass, with care, and without shortcuts. No hormones. No additives. Just clean, 100% grass-fed beef raised with respect for the land, the animals, and the families who depend on it.

We started The Back 40 Ranch because we saw how hard it’s become for families to trust and control where their food comes from. Labels are confusing. Supply chains are distant. And too often, the people eating the food have no connection to the people raising it. We believe families deserve better than that.
